13 Wishes Monster High Dolls

This is the first time we meet Twyla.  She and Gigi Grant are new characters that first appear in the 13 Wishes television special. There is also a 13 Wishes DVD coming. Lagoona Blue has a brand new look in the 13 Wishes doll line.  She received a wish from the Genie that popped out of a magic lamp found by Howleen Wolf.  She wished to become a fresh water monster so her boyfriend Gil Webber's parents will approve of their relationship.  So her skin and hair have become more vibrant.  I always thought salt water fish had the brighter colors but I guess monsters are different.

Lagoona comes with a stand, brush, a cool underwater swim mask, a diary, her pet fish Neptuna and a clear fish bubble purse to hold her pet.  It opens and she fits right in there.

Here are some close ups of her face with and without her mask.  Notice the mask has seaweed designs on the edges.  That pattern shows up in her shoes too (pictures farther down the page).

The mask sits right on top of her head when she's not using it.

See how her skin is a brighter blue and her hair is bright yellow.  She still has ears that look like gills and underwater themed jewelry.  Her lipstick is green and she wears violet eyeshadow now.  Very tasteful.

Here are a few more pictures of her fashions, hair and jewelry.  She wears an off one shoulder dress with one 3/4 length sleeve.  The dress is pink with a sheer aqua sheath high waist skirt over the top.

Now meet Miss Twyla from Monster High.

Twyla's father is the Boogey Man. Twyla is very shy and likes to hang out in the shadows.  She doesn't give little kids nightmares, but rather steals them away while they are sleeping. She has a pet dust bunny named Dusin that she rescued while he was blowing around in the wind.

Here you can see everything that comes in the box.  She has a stand, diary, brush, purse, and of course Dustin.

One of the recurring themes in her outfit and accessories is dreamcatchers.  Very clever.  She wears the design in her slave bracelet, on her purse, shoes, and belt.  She has swirly smokey patterns on her legs.  The represent shadows and dust.  Her arms also fade to gray close to her hands.  Her color scheme is very shadowy too - purple, gray, dark blue, and black.

Her hair is mint green with purple and blue highlights, and her makeup is green and purple.  Twyla's lips are painted a soft pink.  Her hair is long in the back and brushes easily.  She has a young looking face.

As you can see Twyla is a bit shorter than Lagoona Blue and most of the other Monster HIgh dolls.  It's because she's just 14 years old.  Quite young to be in high school.

I can't wait to watch the 13 Wishes TV special and get the whole story on how Twyla and Gigi Grant came to Monster High.  Until then, a few more pictures of the pair.
