First let me admit I have a problem.  I'm out of control with respect to dolls and dollhouses.  There, now that that's out of the way look at my latest find!  I saw it on Craigslist yesterday and went right out and bought it.  Nevermind I had to drive an hour in the rain and take it apart to fit in my car and drive an hour back home, then rebuild it again when I got here.  All while Mr. Dollcrazey was rolling his eyes and asking "And where exactly is this going to go?".  Hmph.  I'll find a place don't you worry.

It's made of wood and is hand built.  It's Pepto Bismol pink on the outside and I like it that way.  I'm going to call it the beach cottage.  The inside rooms are painted darker colors and there was a foamboard fireplace covering one of the windows but I took that out.  I plan to paint the interior light beachy colors and furnish it like a vacation retreat.  First thing will be some ceiling fans.  And those dark floors will have to go.  I love the outdoor patio on the 2nd floor.  And how the doors open and close.

Closer views of the 1st and 2nd floor interior.  Pardon the grandkids toys in the background.

And the side view.  This morning after I re-assembled the house I washed it down with the hose.  I live in hot Central Florida so it dried within a few minutes and no wood was damaged.  It was pretty dirty, as it was in storage for a while before brought it home.  I started cleaning with a washcloth but after doing a few of the window frames I decided the hose would work better.  Ran a soapy cloth over the surfaces and it looked great.

Miss Blythe is already relaxing on the patio.  She approves.  Those cute retro chairs came with the house, as did some furnishings that I'm not sure I will keep.

My rationale for buying this house is that it's taking me MUCH longer than I expected to make big progress on the main house.  One reason is I'm slow.  Another is that I'm running into obstacles and I tend to put things off when there are problems.  I am working on the house, just not enough to keep readers interested.  So this can be a quick side project to tackle in the meantime.  I'm going tomorrow to get some paint for the inside walls and some flooring.  This is going to be fun.  Stay tuned.
