Kelly Dolls Dressed In Halloween Costumes For Trick or Treat

The original Mattel Kelly Doll was born in 1991. Kelly and her friend Todd were in Barbie's best friend Midge's wedding party when she and Alan married. Kelly was 8" tall then. At the wedding nobody knew she was Barbie's sister (or was destined to be). After the wedding Kelly and Todd disappeared into obscurity and weren't heard from for a few years. Then in 1995 Kelly came back as Barbie's baby sister, who was a tiny toddler of only 4 1/2". She had a mouth that would hold a bottle or pacifier and jointed shoulders and hips so she could be posed in all sorts of cute little baby positions. The 1995 Kelly doll came with lots of accessories like a bed, blanket, bottle, rattle & comb, & more. Barbie fans loved her and she has been created in many different costumes & outfits since that first Kelly Doll introduction.

Friends of Kelly Dolls - Ready For A Halloween Party

Given the instant popularity of Kelly among doll collectors, naturally she had to have some friends to play with. She has dozens. And through the years Kelly and her friends have taken on all sorts of character themes and personalities. Her friends are both boys and girls of many nationalities, races, and skin colors. They celebrate all the popular holidays and dress up appropriately. The number of Kelly and Friends Dolls since the first release of the toddler doll in 1995 is in the hundreds. And every time a new Kelly & Friends doll appears, collectors scramble to add them to their collections.

Start A Mattel Kelly Doll Collection With Halloween Theme Dolls

Kelly and Friends Dolls are fun to collect and there were enough made that most of the retired dolls are still easy to find on sites like eBay and Amazon. There have been exclusives offered by Target, Walmart, K-Mart, Toys r Us, Costco, and other stores so they are fun to find. You can get them in their original packaging or previously played with. I prefer one of each so I have one to save, and one to dress and photograph.

Kelly was replaced in 2010 with Chelsea Dolls. Chelsea is slightly older, about 5 to 7 years old, a little talker, and looks remarkably like her predecessor Kelly. Chelsea is gathering quite a following of her own, but that's a story for another webpage.
